This 10 week Mindfulness Yoga course will give you the chance to try out Mindfulness Yoga and meditation. Or, if you already have some experience of Mindfulness practices, it will give you an opportunity to deepen and develop your practice.

By the end of the course you will have experienced a variety of Mindfulness meditations. The periods of meditation will be interspersed with meditative physical yoga practices. You will also learn how to bring mindfulness into your everyday life. Encouragement will be given to develop your own home Mindfulness Yoga practice, and the book "Mindfulness a practical guide to Finding Peace in a Frantic World", with its accompanying CD, will help you to do this.

Over the 10 weeks the course will include the following Mindfulness meditations: Mindfulness of body and breath, mindfulness of sound, thoughts and feelings, the Three Minute Breathing Space, and the Body Scan practice. As well as a physical Mindful Yoga practice each week.

Mindfulness is proven to help with stress, anxiety and depression. It can boost concentration, improve relationships and develop self-awareness. It can even have a positive effect on physical problems like hypertension and chronic pain. Anyone can learn mindfulness, it's simple, you can practise it anywhere, and the results can be life changing.

This course is suitable for all levels of ability and beginners are welcome. Please bring a yoga mat and a warm blanket. You may also want to bring cushions/ yoga blocks to sit on, a slim cushion for under your head. Wear loose fitting comfortable clothing suitable for exercising in.

Early pre-booking is advised as numbers will be limited.

Mindfulness Yoga Saturday 2012

Mindfulness practice gives us the gift of coming back to the present moment in all its fullness. On this Mindfulness Yoga day you will experience a variety of mindful meditations including: mindfulness of body and breath, mindfulness of feelings, mountain meditation, and the body scan practice. The meditation practices will be interspersed with mindful and meditative yoga sessions.
     
The day will give you a chance to relax and nurture yourself. The Mindful Yoga practices and meditations will encourage self-discovery, openesss, curiosity, and cultivating compassion and kindness toward ourselves and others.
   
The day would be a good way to start a Mindfulness practice or a way to deepen and develop your existing meditation practice. Advice will be given on developing your own Mindfulness Yoga practice.
 
This course would be suitable for students of all levels, although not complete beginners.

Please bring: your yoga mat, blocks if used (chairs will be available), a warm blanket, and slim cushion (If used) for relaxation; pen and paper; a packed lunch. Hot drinks and biscuits will be provided by tutor.
